Sophie & Renwick held their small, intimate December wedding at the Island Palms Hotel & Marina in San Diego and didn’t hold back on anything! It was just a few days after the Christmas Holiday which made it a perfect way to celebrate with family and close friends.
The late December weather was nearly perfect, although the winds coming off of the adjacent harbor made for a chilly, but memorable ceremony held at the Sunset Garden. The ceremony concluded with a Dove Release as I played “I Do” by Colbie Caillat for the wedding recessional. Guests were then escorted inside to the Sunset Room for Cocktails, Dinner and the remainder of the Reception.
Sophie & Renwick stepped it up a few notches on the “Decor” side as we provided a deep Maroon Uplighting to match their decor (florals, chair sashes, etc) and a custom Gobo Monogram on the dancefloor with their initials done in an elegant script and date just below. The reception went on without a hitch and everyone had a great time while dancing all the way to the last dance!
Jessica and the Staff from the Island Palms was a pleasure and very easy to work with, and another wedding with Jason Taylor always helps! (I think it was my 3rd this year alone!) Remember, Happy Vendors are Better Vendors! (TIP: During the interview process, ask your vendors if they are familiar with working with each other – it really helps!)
