A Gobo Monogram is a sign of identity usually formed of the combined initials of a name, or in most cases, both names. Gobo Monogram lighting can be an excellent way to pull together all the elements of your wedding. A gobo monogram light and design creates a high impact focal point to the room and provides the perfect environment to show off all the beautiful work you’ve put into the cake, flowers and decor.
For starters, you must have a “design” and this can be one that you already have, or one that we create for you. For weddings, this can include existing monograms, your cake topper design, or the logo that you or your friend designed. For corporate clients, this would be your company logo, of course.
We offer design services with all Gobo packages, and includes.
Different Approaches
Traditional
Using the First letter of both the bride and groom’s first name and the first letter of the groom’s last name, we create a traditional 3-letter monogram using any type of font you choose (some popular font choices are listed in our FREE guide). You also have the option of adding in the date of the wedding/event or the names of the bride and groom clearly spelled out.
Custom
Our custom monogram option is great for those who already have a unique symbol or icon that they would like to see used in their monogram. We can take any symbol/icon that you give us and we will transfer it so it can be used for monogram projection use. You also have the option of adding in the date of the wedding/event or the names of the bride and groom clearly spelled out.
The Design Process
Step 1: Design Ideas
When we design your monogram we start with a series of font ideas and layouts for you to choose from which you can see in the Free Custom Monogram Projection Guide that you will receive, unless you already have a font/design in mind. If you have a paper copy or illustration, we convert it into a digital vector illustration. If you have a magazine picture or font idea we can re-create it and customize it as needed. This initial phase is to get an idea of what style monogram you want. We can then refine those designs to create your perfect monogram.
Step 2: Art Proofing Process
After working with you and narrowing down your design options, your final monogram design will be sent to you for your approval. The final proof sent to you will show your monogram (placed inside a circle, because this is how the plates are shaped for the light projectors), the font(s) used, your names, and wedding/event date.
Step 3: Making Your Monogrammed Gobo
After you have approved your monogram design we will laser cut your monogram onto usually a metal plate (brass or steel). Prices do vary depending on the artwork/font used and the type of Gobo materials used.
Step 4: Putting it all Together!
After your Gobo has been made it will be used with a light and added to the décor of your wedding. See the pictures below of what the finished product can produce!
