Vivian Glyck’s Just Like My Child foundation held their 5th annual gala fundraiser on Thursday evening, 10/25/12 and it was an affair to remember and a huge success! It was our 3rd year in a row to provide complete Sound, AV and Tech support for the event and after weeks of planning, site visits and production run-throughs, it was a huge success! Smaller and more intimate than year’s past by design, it was held at Bice Restaurant downtown San Diego.
Guests were greeted by a group of African percussionists alongside the Red Carpet to get pictures taken in front of the JLMC Step & Repeat banner as they passed through registration. Cocktails and Hor’dourves were served during the welcome reception held in the bar area and private dining room where later the after party would take place. Guests were then escorted to the dining room for the main event. It started off with an official program of presentation and the Live Auction items. Auctioneer Jim Nye attended to oversee the fundraising portions – which were a HUGE success!

A magnificent dinner was served headed by Chef Mario and it was delicious. (Even us Tech Geeks enjoyed the main entree 😉 The 2nd half of the program commenced after dinner and included an awesome video production of the “JLMC Heros”. Vivian also gave a heartwarming presentation, and included awards for many of the key supporters of JLMC.
Working closely with Vivian and her team along with event lead Shawn Ruggeiro, it was awesome event to be a part of!!
We provided a slew of AV and Tech Service and I also had the opportunity to DJ the after party, another new item added to the gala from year’s past.
