Scott & Chiara Wedding at The Grand Del Mar

Dinner at the Aria Lawn set the stage for a “Grand” wedding celebration.

When I first booked with Chiara & Scott, we were supposed to be at another wedding venue in North County San Diego. A few months prior, they switched things up to the magnificent Grand Del Mar resort for a multi-part wedding reception & celebration – and it was a perfect change! It was grand all around, and the celebration went over 7 hours long!

After an offsite church wedding, guests arrived for cocktails and Hors d’oeuvres at the Reflection Lawn. Scott & Chiara finished pictures alongside which was a nice backdrop for guests. I has happy to run into past clients Megan & Eric whom along with Megan’s parents, referred me to Chiara & Scott – I did their wedding a two years earlier.

A bagpiper, Larry Samuels, arrived by surprise to escort guests to the Aria Lawn to be seated for dinner. We then coordinated a “Grand Entrance” set to bagpipes as we introduced Scott & Chiara as the first time as husband and wife. They did their first dance under the “grand arches” outside. Guests enjoyed a dinner under the stars before moving upstairs and inside to the Capela Room. It was also great to work with Amy Vargas of First Comes Love for the first time!

After another Grand Entrance which included the Wedding Party this time, we kicked off another few hours of celebration and dance. After getting extended overtime, we ended the night a mere 7+ hours after we started making it “grand” all the way around! (With ceremony included, their wedding went 9 hours!!)
