Sexy Purple Uplighting & Pinspotting on the cake topped off the mood of the Reception

Many weddings can be summarized with a few words and “an Awesome Time” does the trick for Bonnie & Chris’s wedding at Paradise Point in San Diego. It started light, fun and friendly, looked absolutely dazzling in the middle and ended with a bang on the dancefloor. Working with great vendors was also a nice touch which helps every wedding!

The intimate and joyful ceremony was held on the Island Point lawn and officiated by Deborah Young. Immediately following, guests were escorted to the outdoor patio of the Dockside Room to enjoy an hour of Cocktails and hors d’ourves. After a fun introduction of the wedding party and Bonnie & Chris, we got right into dinner which didn’t dissapoint! We saved the formal toasts, first dance and family dances until after dinner.

Then the Party Really Began!

It was just one of those nights on the dancefloor!

One of those dream weddings for a DJ . . the danceloor was simply (sorry to borrow a cheesy cliche) . . . off the hook. They danced, everyone danced, they danced their asses off. I’ve seen some moves in my time, but can’t say I’ve ever seen the “flying wheelbarrel” I just wish I had it on video. The groom and his brother (best man) had a “Dance Off”, and the Father of the Bride busted out a funky choreographed number. And when the last few songs end in practically a mosh pit . . you know it was “good times had by all”

I had the pleasure to work for the first time with Courtney from After the Engagement event planning & coordination and we had all had a blast too! Oddly, I’ve known Melissa McClure (photographer) for years in the industry, but this was also the first time working with her. I can’t wait to see her pictures! And of course, always nice to see Deborah for the ceremony.
