George & Catherine’s Temecula Creek Inn Wedding

George & Catherine got married at the Temecula Creek Inn on a gorgeous early April afternoon and it was my pleasure to provide DJ/MC Services for the entire wedding – from Ceremony through to the end of the reception. The afternoon started with an intimate ceremony on the outdoor patio just in front of the waterfall. The view was great, but better was the military sword arch performed by some of our Marines at the end of the ceremony.  For the ceremony, I played a mix of string quartet songs selected by the couple. Afterwards,...

In the past, I’ve written about other DJ’s who ‘borrow’ my images for their use.  It happens often and I only document a few.  But every once in a while I’ll stumbe across one that seems to “take the cake” and this is one of them. I stumbled upon this San Diego DJ’s website and it had DIY written all over it. Turns out that this DJ here in San Diego using another DJs image, from Virgina. By clicking on the only image on the home page, it brought me to this rather nice image, that just...

Tom Ham’s Lighthouse

Tom Ham’s Lighthouse has been an iconic venue in San Diego for decades.  Tom Ham originally opened the restaurant in 1971, and the Lighthouse remains a beacon both on the dining map of San Diego and the nautical map as a fully functioning lighthouse.  Tom was very passionate about California history, and wanted to incorporate the nautical culture of San Diego into his vision for an elegant dining experience.  The architecture of the restaurant beautifully brings in these elements, creating a wonderful atmospheric experience reminiscent...

Step up in front of a 8’x10′ custom designed banner, flash that million dollar smile and then let the next guest step on up! My first event there was back in 2004 and I’ve worked in every room and space since.  I continue to enjoy helping brides & grooms alike and I’m honored to know that Pro Motion Entertainment has been on the Preferred Vendor list for the last few years now....

Blake’s Baby Announcement

Over Thanksgiving my wife and I had a big announcement to share. We revealed to friends and family we were expecting our second child! And, with the help of Sweet Cheeks Baking Company, we discovered the gender of the baby in a unique way! The technician sealed the gender of the baby in an envelope and we brought it to Sweet Cheeks for their eyes only! They baked a wonderful vanilla bean cake, which included either blue or pink filling. We then cut into the cake one evening… Guess What?! It was blue filling 🙂 Thanks Sweet Cheeks Bakery!...

Wish Lanterns Banned in San Diego

Couples looking for that unique, memorable moment to end their wedding now have one less item to choose from: Wish Lanterns (aka Sky Lanterns, Sky Candles, Flying Lanterns.) They are officially banned in San Diego, and have been apparently since late 2011. Because we DJs are usually involved with the ending of the night, whether it being the last dance set, last song or something unique, we’re often asked for recommendations or ideas.  Sparklers have been popular too, though many venues ban their use.  I’ve been asked alot...
