Bonnie & Chris’s Blast Wedding at Paradise Point

Many weddings can be summarized with a few words and “an Awesome Time” does the trick for Bonnie & Chris’s wedding at Paradise Point in San Diego.  It started light, fun and friendly, looked absolutely dazzling in the middle and ended with a bang on the dancefloor. Working with great vendors was also a nice touch which helps every wedding! The intimate and joyful ceremony was held on the Island Point lawn and officiated by Deborah Young. Immediately following, guests were escorted to the outdoor patio of the Dockside...

Keep an Eye on Your Images

It’s a common rumbling amongst businesses, professionals, artists, photographers, creative types, etc. in today’s world of the internet to find their images, logos or creative work borrowed, or simply flat out stolen.  When I rebuilt my website, I included reworking every single image/picture of mine to include a big watermark on each image. Why? Because alot of my previous work was simply stolen.  I am finding dozens of pictures, content and images that have been hijacked off of my old site.  It was around for 5+ years and had...

I’ll take some new Business Cards with that Website!

I’ll take some new Business Cards with that Website!

Last year, I redesigned my logo and branding in prep for my new website and the launch of a fresh, new look!  Well, last week I received my business cards to accompany this year long “project” and they are snazzy as can be. Extra thick 16pt Matte/Satin finish with Spot UV to highlight the pictures on the back and the logo on the front gives these cards a really cool look and feel.  They’re so thick, I think I can Chinese Star them into a wall. Who Did Em? Me and my Team at Pro Motion Design – my sister Design &...

How NOT to Borrow (Steal?) Content from Others

A few months ago when I was planning the launch of our new website, I was perusing my site statistics and analytics. Having used analytics for years and being a bit of a geek, I can quickly scan through pages and pages of data. So when something doesn’t look right, it sticks out like a sore thumb. This is a big sore thumb! GeekTalk: There were a few ‘calls’ to some of my content from an external page.  That sticks out to someone like me like a sore thumb.  Turned out that some hack DJ out of Texas decided it would be okay to...

Sierra & David Celebrate at The Catamaran

Sierra & David had a Catholic ceremony earlier in the day, but brought their Wedding Reception to the Catamaran Resort in Pacific Beach for a top-notch celebration.  Being the big “9-10-11” wedding day, the place was bustling with activity (there were 3 stuffed reception room just upstairs alone.)  This was my second Catamaran wedding this summer alone.  Don Cole photographed the evening and was a pleasure to work with with his very easy going attitude. This one was extra special since the referral came from Sierra’s...

Nick & Renee’s Hawaiian Themed Wedding at Bali Hai

Nick & Renee ended the summer with their Labor Day weekend wedding at the Bali Hai restaurant and what a big celebration it was!  Everything was “Hawaiian” themed, from the ceremony down to the florals.  It was my first time back to the Bali Hai since they renovated and the venue turned out great! The ceremony was held onsite, at the re-designed ceremony grounds and was officiated by the friendly and ultra-personable Craig Knudsen.  Immediately following the recessional of the ceremony, the guests were asked to remain seated...

Community Hospice Fundraiser at Atwood Yacht Club, Ohio

I had the opportunity to help out a great organization while on vacation, the “Bridge to Healing” fundraiser for the Community Hospice program of Tuscarawas, Stark and Carroll counties in Ohio by providing DJ and Emcee services.   My Mother ‘volunteered’ me to help (not coincidentally, this event was held the same week as my vacation home – call it a ‘working holiday’.) Thanks to alot of marketing, press and media coverage, the event attracted over 200 people and included a Cocktail Hour, full buffet...

Chiara & Scott go Big at Their Grand Del Mar Wedding

When I first booked with Chiara & Scott, we were supposed to be at another wedding venue in North County San Diego.  A few months prior, they switched things up to the magnificent Grand Del Mar resort for a multi-part wedding reception & celebration – and it was a perfect change!  It was grand all around, and the celebration went over 7 hours long! After an offsite church wedding, guests arrived for cocktails and Hors d’oeuvres at the Reflection Lawn.  Scott & Chiara finished pictures alongside which was a nice...

Angie & Mike Celebrate Their Waterfront Tom Ham’s Lighthouse Wedding

Angie & Mike came in from Arizona to have their (somewhat) destination wedding.  I say somewhat as they and many of their frends and family are from out of town, but they all spend a lot of time boating ouf of San Diego and Southern California.  Therefore, Tom Ham’s Lighthouse was a perfect venue for them to both hold their wedding and post-nuptial reception! The wedding ceremony was officiated by the infamous Pastor Mike out on the side patio as is common at Tom Ham’s.  Following, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’ouerves also on the...

Virgil & Penny’s Steel Canyon Wedding

Virgil & Penelope have been awesome to work with to prepare for their BIG celebration at the Steel Canyon Golf Club in Jamul, California which turned out to be an awesome place to hold a wedding!  Since “Virge & Penny” were going all out, we had multiple planning meetings and a site visit ahead of time to review the arrangement, flow, timeline and all of the event lighting that we were bringing into the Pavilion.  It paid off! The wedding ceremony was held right across the way at a dedicated site that was built perfectly...
