I have known Nat & Elaine for years as members of my Running Club so it was an extra special honor to assist them with their big day . . . they each celebrated their 50th birthday, and each within about a week of each other. They planned an intimate gathering of the closest family and friends at the Bernardo Winery inside the Barrel Room.
I assisted them in planning out the agenda, timeline and special events they wished to have, which included some speeches, a special recognition to Nat’s parents who flew over from Scotland to a custom folk “present dance” that is popular in Scotland. Amber uplighting turned the barrel room from a dark wooden room into a warm venue, and a custom Gobo Monogram was displayed on the side of an 11,600+ gallon wine storage tank which welcomed the guests as they entered.
My wife, also a runner and friends with Nat & Elaine was also invited and brought our 3 month old Little Lucy so it was nice to have them a part of it too. Lucy enjoyed the dancefloor too, as did Nat & Elaine’s sons who got groovey into the night. Aside from the San Diego “winter rain” to start, it was a great night overall!
