Chuck and Courtney ventured to the ever-so-lovely Lodge at Torrey Pines for a modern, sophisticated yet super-duper FUN wedding and I was extremely happy to assist in making it happen . . and helping them achieve an awesome look! Going all out in DJ/MC services and Lighting/Decor, Chuck and Courtney’s wedding kicked off an Awesome October of weddings for me! (More to come in subsequent posts) Chuck & Courtney had their ceremony and cocktail hour down on the lawn of the Lodge Property so I was able to focus on the Reception up in the Maurice Braun Ballroom. A full supply of Amber Uplighting covered all of the walls and corners to create a warm, cozy feel and compliment the Lodge decor.
To add some extra punch to the event, we used an arrangement of Pinspotting in the foryer to highlight the Cake Table and the Candy Bar. The Bar was right next to the Candy Bar so this whole area provided a great “getaway” from the craziness that happened on the dancefloor! Pinspotting is a great way to make an area stand out, and offers great lighting for photographs and videos too! We kicked things off with Introducing the Wedding Party into the room, and then right into Chuck & Courtney’s first dance. They opted to have their bridal party rim the edge of the dancefloor for an intimate effect. Then, as usual, The Lodge provided an incredible meal from start to finish.
Following the meal we focused everything back to the dancefloor where it was a non-stop party all the way to the last dance! I was able to play everything from Marvin Gay to Tupac to Britney Spears, Jump Smoker’s Remix of Till The World Ends for an uuuber high-energy electro-house set! And to add to the mix, that “kid” that some of you saw (1+million views) on YouTube who crashed the CNN camera woman talking about Kim Kardashian’s wedding was the ring bearer and was a laugh and a half!
More Happy Vendors!
The vendor team was obviously assembled to provide a fun, well organzied and memorable wedding! Lodge at Torrey Pines lived up to their name, as usual. Krystal and her Sweet Team from Couture Events San Diego provided the coordination and planning, while Jason Taylor and his team captured the moments on Video. It was my first time working with the fun couple Ellie and Mike from 1 Look Back photography! (Though I’ve known Ellie as she’s a make-up artist in the wedding industry)
