Jesse and Stephanie held their unique, early afternoon Monday wedding at the San Diego Botanic Gardens (aka Quail Botanical Gardens in Encinitas) and it was a memorable day for sure. It was extra special for me too since I know Steph from my Running Club. BTW – She was training for a half marathon while planning her wedding!
The Ceremony was held in the Walled Garden which provided a quiet, secluded area for them and their guests. Music was supplied on the guitar by a close friend. After the ceremony, guests were escorted tot he Lawn House where cocktails and appetizers were supplied. This area is perfect for as it backs up to their “Palm Canyon Rainforest” complete with waterfall in the background. We then moved guests to the lawn in front of the Victorian Gazebo which acts as the reception site. The dancefloor was situated in the corner, underneath a large tree which acts as a great surrounding for the reception.
I introduced the bridal party and then Jesse & Steph as they went into their first dance. A laid back BBQ Buffet was dinner, and we followed that with a few wedding traditions and then got into the dancing. There was a heat wave w/ extra humidity hovering over San Diego during these weeks, but it didn’t affect Jesse & Steph and their guests from have a great time. The last 45min was all Reggae and Dancehall which was a first for me at a wedding (to play such a long set of Reggae & Dancehall), but awesome to pull off as I personally love the genre. (Reggae was my first love of music).
Jesse & Steph were surprised at how many guests actually did dance, and honestly with the early timing, heat and humidity, so was I.
Congrats Jesse & Steph!
